First Chart Anxiety

Thinking of having your chart done by an astrologer, but have a little "first chart anxiety"? You are not alone. One of the largest concerns people have when having their first astrological interpretation, is whether or not there is something "bad" in it. When we are very young, we are told that we are either being "bad" or "good". This black and white description stays with us throughout our lives and we apply it subconsciously almost daily.

Let me put your mind at ease. To burst your bubble, I type before you and say that there is no such thing as "bad" or "negative". There are difficult things and challenges. It is a well established fact that we as people learn much faster when faced with a challenge than when things are "easy". There is an ancient Chinese proverb which states: "The best porcelain is made where the conditions of life are hard".

So, forget the black/white, good/bad thoughts and view your first chart reading as a new adventure! Throw caution to the wind and enjoy! You can choose to have an "in person" reading or one printed out for you. A personal one-on-one with a good astrologer allows you to ask specific questions and guide some of the reading towards things you feel are important to you at that time. A chart that is computer generated can be just as accurate, you just don't personally interact with the words on the page. How can a computer generated chart be accurate? Astrology is very literal in it's interpretations, and the chart itself is calculated via a computer. Interpretations for each portion are then printed out. The interpretations are the same ones you would get if you saw that astrologer in person.

Printed charts are not all created equally. I would suggest the following, and if this is your first time, start with a Personality Profile. Resources - Here you can order charts from:
* Robert Currey at Equinox - Concise and accurate reports that are easy to understand.
* Liz Greene - Intense Astro*Intelligence reports. Not for the faint of heart. This chart will leave no stone unturned.

I always wanted to have my astrology done. Now I know where to go, and that it's okay to be a little anxious. Thank you so much!
