Your Name Sent to Mars?

The Planetary Society draws people to get involved in space exploration. They find fun ways to do this. You can even volunteer to do a number of things, such as count star dust particles. Might sound boring on here, but when you read about it on their site, it actually sounds pretty interesting. The Planetary Society even keeps you posted of space events local to you and runs contests. All this to get us interested in the space that impacts our lives and understanding.

You can even fly your name to Mars! Literally! The deadline to have your name included on a DVD that will be sent to Mars is February 2007. You will be in good company on the long journey, traveling with the likes of Ray Bradbury, Arthur C. Clark, Isaac Asimov and Carl Sagan. It might be a little cramped with all the art and personal messages to the future, but hey, your name is sent to MARS! How cool is that? (Read: Christmas)
