Google and NASA to Make Big Announcement Dec. 18th

The folks at NASA are courting Google. The entire courtship has been hush-hush so no one really knows what the two will announce on a December 18th press briefing. Google already has Google Earth and Google Mars (Astrology Talk: Googling Mars). There is talk that iEarth may be released publicly later in 2007 which allows for folks to take measurements of different places and structures from the comfort of their home or office.

The press release hints that the NASA and Google relationship centers around something called "Space Act Agreement". Apparently this has something to do with "research, technology and monitoring of the upper atmosphere".

I await the December 18th announcement. The Moon goes back on course in the wee hours of the morning (PST), so it should be a good outcome for an announcement of such magnitude.
