Mind Boggling Tour of Space

Today I came across a little program that I just had to share with you! I was actually looking for software to move my iPod iTunes Library to a different iPod. No luck on that front, but finding Celestia was well worth the diversion!

Celestia is a free program that gives you a 3D tour of the Universe. It works on Windows, Linux and Mac OSX. What I liked most about this program, besides the superior graphics and the speed of your "flight", is the detail. For each planet you can choose other elements around and on it.



Plus, by going to Celestia Motherlode, you can use add-ons to expand the use of Celestia. Some of the great categories for these add-ons include Solar System, Spacecraft, Extrasolar and Fictional.

It was very enlightening to travel and see Chiron in full view, then compare it with Eros!

A must check-out piece of software. Oh, and I did mention that it's free!!!
